HYMER

HYMER dates back to 1957, and the brand has a long lasting and significant impact on the whole camper industry of Europe. It all started in 1957 with an Eriba Ur-Troll Caravan livable trailer. Erwin Hymer joined his parents crafts business in Bad Waldsee. In the year 1956, a part of the company was bought from Erich Bachem (today, the brand Eriba, which focuses solely on livable trailers). In 1961, HYMER released its first fully independently created camper in the market, to be exact, the camper bus Caravano made on the Borgward 611 minibus chassis base. 10 years later, in 1971 HYMER reveals its first fully integrated camper Hymermobil to the world, which started the brands long lasting partnership with Mercedes-Benz as a supplier of framework, running gear, engine, and driver seat’s equipment. Soon after, HYMER becomes one of the leading players in the market business of camper houses, also known as fully integrated campers, and, in the last century’s 80s offers high-level comfort three-axle models to the market as a part of their Hymermobil series, but in the upcoming years focuses on more compact B-series models. In 2004, the 100 000th camper vehicle drove off the HYMER factory conveyor in Bad Waldsee. In 2011, Bad Waldsee opened an Erwin Hymer museum, and its continuous exposition at the moment has more than 80 exhibits to look at – https://www.erwin-hymer-museum.de/. The musem regularly organizes historic events on the theme of camping. In 2014, HYMER AG united with CNC, and further is reffered to as Konzern Erwin-Hymer-Group. In 2016, HYMER group starts its expansion in North America by purchasing the enterprise Roadtrek. At the moment in Europe, HYMER focuses on the introducing of the newest technologies and super light materials in their manufacturing process, so the majority of their models would conform to the 3,5 ton weight category, and would be drivable with a simple B category driver’s license.

At the moment, HYMER offers 7 different models on the base of Citroën, FIAT, and Mercedes-Benz, with a weight of 3500 kg, and other significantly heavier models, the handling of which requires the adequate driver’s license. Of course, HYMER also offers the brand appropriate more conservative design, and a higher quality of design materials and installed machinery. By choosing a mobile camper house based on Mercedes-Benz, of course, the driver will be delighted with a true Mercedes vehicle driver workspace!

At the moment, HYMER also offers nine standard height partly integrated campers, which mostly conform to the 3,5 ton weight limit, as well as the deluxe class’s 4 tons in weight, and almost 8 meters in length B-Klasse MasterLine T camper based on a Mercedes, and the special 4x4 model ML-T CrossOver, which, for 2 or 3 people, will provide the highest class travel comfort and autonomy for up to 10 days on true off-road conditions. It is fancied by many celebrities all over the world for trips into the wild nature. This model also requires a higher category driver’s license because its weight reaches 4,1 tons.

In the camper bus category HYMER offers 8 models, including the exclusive 4x4 model HYMER Grand Canyon S CrossOver, which also provides a 10-day autonomy, the same as the integrated 4x4 model.
